The Afriven Farm Story
From a simple idea to transform agriculture, to a platform connecting thousands of farmers with consumers across Uganda.
It Started With a Problem
In rural Uganda, we saw farmers struggling to sell their produce at fair prices. Middlemen controlled the markets, taking large margins while farmers received a fraction of the final selling price. Meanwhile, consumers in cities were paying premium prices for produce that often wasn't fresh.
We knew technology could solve this. By creating a direct connection between farmers and consumers, we could ensure farmers get better prices, consumers get fresher products, and everyone benefits from a more efficient supply chain.
That's how Afriven Farm was born - not just as a marketplace, but as a movement to transform agriculture in Africa.
Our Journey
Every milestone represents the hard work of our team, the trust of our farmers, and the support of our customers.
The Idea
Our founders witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in Uganda - low prices, lack of market access, and post-harvest losses. They envisioned a platform that could bridge the gap between farmers and consumers.
The Launch
After months of research, development, and partnerships with local farming communities, Afriven Farm was officially launched. We started with just 50 farmers and a handful of customers in Kampala.
Growing Roots
Our network expanded rapidly across Uganda. We onboarded thousands of farmers, added farm equipment and inputs to our marketplace, and introduced agricultural services to better serve our community.
Scaling Up
We reached a major milestone with over 5,000 registered farmers and 50,000 customers. Our logistics network now covers over 100 districts, ensuring fresh produce reaches consumers quickly.
Building Partnerships
Strategic partnerships with agricultural organizations, financial institutions, and government agencies are helping us provide even more value to farmers - from training programs to access to credit.
Pan-African Vision
Our vision extends beyond Uganda. We are laying the groundwork to expand across East Africa and eventually serve agricultural communities throughout the continent.

We envision a future where every African farmer has access to fair markets, modern tools, and the support they need to thrive. Where consumers can trust that their food comes from sustainable sources and supports local communities.
Technology will continue to be at the heart of what we do - from AI-powered crop recommendations to blockchain-based supply chain tracking. But our focus will always remain on the people we serve.
